The Plain is a work in progress, world building project that Dawn and I have brought the community in to help us create.
Crowd forging The Plain during live Twitch streams has been a great deal of fun and we love the effort and enthusiasm that forgers have been putting out there!
Where Is This Going?
Our current plans put The Plain out there in two ways. First, we’ll publish a book of short stories that all take place on The Plain. While this first book will be written in-house, we hope to work with other authors later to let The Plain and Kethar continue to grow and flourish.
Second, once we have published the first book of short stories, we’ll skin an open RPG game system with the world of The Plain. Then we can all enjoy entering this new world as a Table Top Roleplaying game!
Crowd Forging
Crowd forging is not crowd funding. While it involves the community helping to grow a product, instead of money, you supply your time and brainpower to help make something great. That being said, if you would like to support The Plain financially, you can do that on our Ko-Fi!

What is The Plain?
We’ll add better primers to this site later but for now, here’s a brief description.
The Plain is an unthinkably large plain on a super-massive world known as Kethar. To travel from the edge to the middle of the plain takes about ten years, and so crossing it at the widest point takes twenty years. As on Earth, a year is twelve months, though every month has thirty days, so a year does have fewer days, 360 versus 365 on Earth.
The Plain takes up an area of about seventy percent of the Meera Dalal content, cutting right through the middle of the land mass.
On a huge plateau in the middle of The Plain exists a soil composition and climate combination that makes it the only known place where the agdal plant grows. Once a year, the agdal bares 6 to 8 small berries about the size of a grape. The berries are used in a legal, though rather expensive narcotic that is sold in more populated areas of Kethar on both sides of The Plain.
The value of the agdal berries combined with the rough individualism and adventurous spirit of a rugged few drives some to venture onto The Plain and start an agdal farm that will make their great-grandchildren super wealthy barons. But while the family remains on The Plain, they’ll struggle against the dangers of alien weather and creatures all while enduring extreme isolation.
